  30. Hey, that sounds a *lot* like what I used to do on my Tandy Color Computer 3!!!
  31. Just had to use a simple BASIC "poke" command into a certain location on the
  32. machine, and it would double its speed.  I had to do the same thing, i.e. slow
  33. it down in order to write to the floppy (but not for reading), but the
  34. point is the speed-up worked!  Ran the multi-tasking OS/9 operating system
  35. pretty darn quick in that "sped-up" mode.  It performed rather well for
  36. a 1/"2" MHz machine.
